Our earplugs are Custom Fit Attenuators which are inserted into the ear canal to reduce sound levels for Performers, Venue Staff & Audiences in loud enviroments. These Custom Fit Attenuators are different in that they reduce sound levels evenly across all audio bands — producing an accurate and crisp sound rather then just blocking/muffling sound like generic plugs.
Accurate sound reduction is achieved by combining Etymotic Research patented ER Filters with the specific acoustics of our custom earmold. The combination of the two produces a resonance at approximately 2700 Hz (as in the normal ear) resulting in a smooth, flat attenuation.
Three types of Etymotic Research attenuator buttons are available: ER•9, ER•15 and ER•25.
The number corresponds with the amount of sound reduction provided in dB.
